Where is my Coolant Temperature Sensor Located
Hey, I am trying to find my Coolant Temp Sensor on my 2005 5.4L F150 FX4. Anyone have a picture to show me?? I have a Juice module to connect to the 2 wire sensor...Thanks for any help.
There is no coolant temperature sensor on the new F-150's and many newer FoMoCo (and other) vehicles - instead, they started, in some cases years ago depending on automaker & model, using the CHT (cylinder head temperature sensor) instead, and then programming the PCM with logic to be able to *infer* the coolant temperature from that - this is what gets fed to the "idiot" coolant temperature "gauge" on the dash on new F-150's.
Again, this varies depending on model - but in the newer F-150's, they use the CHT, and there is no traditional wet ECT - a long way from the PI Mustangs with the dual wet ECT's, eh?
