Well, I've done some searching and saw a few ideas, but I'd like everyone to post their thoughts and or pictures here...

I just bought an EDGE and I'm debating on an install location. We all know what the pod mount looks like, but I'd like to see some other pictures and get some feedback on pros/cons to different spots.

Some thoughts are: center console ash tray, below single-DIN stereo, coin holder, in front of instrument cluster, ...

no pics but mine hangs from 2 zip ties off the tray under the ash tray on a xl. If you are worried about it getting ripped off, this location works well, open the ash tray and it covers the EDGE completly. Pull tray, drill one large hole in back and 4 very small holes in upper top.

 

Installed mine where the cigar lighter used to be...

...and with the Edge removed....for warranty work.

Very simple, velcro tape holds it in place (no rattling) and easy to remove for updates!

 

I like it in the ashtray, as I can close the ashtray and the Edge unit is hidden from view.

 

You just said that you saw a few ideas.....I'm curious to know what they are. I have an EDGE coming that I just bought online. To be real honest, I hadn't even considered mounting it elsewhere besides the pod mount. Shoot, I even stopped by the dealership today to see if they had a can of the interior gray spray paint to paint the pod when I get it.
