well look in my sig what I have. The most gained hp from bolts ons came from efans and the long tubes. A tune is a good place to start though.

I've got a '98 with a 4.6 and as far as tuner goes, I can tell you don't waste your money on the Hypertech like I did! I have heard a lot of good things about the Edge Evo and the Xcal2.

HI Hillman,

Your question is the single most common question heard in this section - what's the best to get?

The single fact is what will actually get you th e best results is our Troyer Performance custom tuning - yes, we sell the of-the-shelf types of tuners as well, but virtually nobody wants them compared to our tuning, as none of them work nearly as well as our own tuning.

This is because we have specialized in F-series tuning for 15+ years, longer than anyone else in this industry - which is why so many people use us, and why so many other manufacturers, including tuning companies, come to us for help with their applications.

We provide you with a set of 3 different custom tunes set up specifically for YOUR individual vehicle, how you use it & your preferences, so that you get the ultimate in performance, flexibility, & overall driveability.

Other chipmakers & tuners do not specialize in these trucks - in fact, nobody else specializes in them like we do - and these trucks are among the hardest vehicles in the world to tune properly & consistently, so it takes many years of specialization to really be able to deliver a world-class result like we do.

I don't mean to sound like a pure sales-dude here, just trying to give you some brief info - by all means, take some time and read the boards here, and you will quickly see just how many people actually come to us for our tuning, even after they have used other products like the Hypertech, Edge, and other units - our results are superior to all of them. It's the difference between companies that put our hundreds (if not thousands) of different applications, versus a company like us, who specializes in these vehicles.

I hope this brief info helps, & please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below, we'll be happy to help, answer any questions, etc.

Thanks for your post, & best of luck whatever you decide!

You'll have to call to find out. Tried to get the price over email. That didn't work.

No price posting here hillman -- please call Troyer Performance for a price quote. Be sure to mention that you're a f150online.com member so that you get the forum price.

Here's the page on the Xcal2 with price shown there, but I don't know what the F150online.com member discount is. This is with 3 programs of you choice.
