Detonation after tune

I'm currently running the 93 perf tune from Troyer and notice under WOT I hear lots of detonation. I have almost 98,000 miles on the truck and have yet to replace the 02 sensors. My question is do you think that this could be causing the detonation?

You should call troyer. They will be able to get you the information you need to know.

Bad gas will cause detonation.

Yea I shot them an email since it's late. I only have 1 tank of 93 octane from Exxon on the tune. I am going to fill up at Shell tomorrow...

Please provide the source of your data. Clearly, I don't utilize gasoline; but, I know many who do. I would be real interested in reading about the differences in fossil fuels and why one is better than another.

Thanks

Up here in New England I get the worst mileage with Exxon/Mobil and I used Mobil for a long time because of the Speed pass convenience. They are clean fuels but have less thermal energy. I get almost 2 mpg more with Sunoco, Shell or Citgo. I understand that gas varies by region though so your experience may differ.

Exxon 87 pings on my 87 octane tune with the Edge. Shell does not, plus I get better mileage with Shell.

Any thoughts on BP/Amoco? Amoco 93 Ultimate used to have a really good reputation. Is this still the case?

Thanks.
