tuner not enough....
Well,
It's been a few weeks since I tuned the truck and I have still been waiting to feel a difference which I have not yet felt. This week I happened to be on a wide lane road with no other traffic and decided to go WOT and as soon as I got to about 95ish I felt the truck start to cut back. Knowing that the tunning is suppose to lift this limit I started to wonder if for some reason the tunes didn't get uploaded when I first attempted to tune my truck a few weeks ago. So this morning I went outside and went through the entire process again. I can't really recall everything from the 1st attempt but this attempt seemed to take longer and as soon as I was finished and fired up the truck I could tell a difference from the 1st attempt. The truck actually idled really high right at first unlike my first attempt. I only had a chance to drive it to the gas station and back but it does seem that the very hard 1-2 shift from my valvebody isn't as hard anymore just as I requested. I sure am hoping later tonight or tomorrow on the way to work I do indeed feel the difference of the tunes that I hear so much about and was starting to think wasn't going to happen. I'm not sure what I did wrong the 1st time around...

Man, that's some pretty good luck. I'd think if you somehow screwed up when you flashed your pcm that you'd have broke something. Either way, good to hear you got it right. Now you gotta race your friend again and see how it goes with the tunes actually working

That FJ Cruiser has a decent amount of power, 239 HP V-6. You should be able to smoke him though...Give it another try and let us know the results
You have the 4.6 or 5.4?
I have the 4.6L in my truck. I think even with my tune it should be a pretty good race. I think we should be about even considering we weigh about the same, he makes a good amount of torque and his gearing and 5spd automatic vs. my 3.55's and 4spd auto.
