what mods to go with

Hello everyone, I am completly new to this site (came from a diesel site) and I am considering some up grades for my wife (she loves any thing that works) she drives a 02 4x4 sc Lariat. I don't know much about gas upgrades but I would love to learn.
What is the best seat of the pants mod to start with so she won't balk at the price. Already have a Flowmaster splitrear exhaust but nothing else.

Any input would be great.

Thanks

Larry

Ok thanks for the info, I will look into thesse mods.
How much "seat of the pants could I expect from these mods? ( I realize that they probalbly so not make as much difference as they would on a diesel) or would they?

no not nearly as much. diesel tunes give over 100hp, gas tunes, about 25. All the things ive done in my signature, the long tube headers and efans gave the most noticeable power, well ,for bolt on items.

Hi Larry,

The single best bang for the buck in these gas engines is still the tuning - no, you won't get 100+ Hp from tuning alone of course, but nothing else for the same or less cost will get as much improvement in performance, that still stands true for virtually any computer-controlled vehicle.

In terms of power gains, figure that tuning is going to net you anywhere from 25-35 HP depending on the type of tune (and here you'd want to go with our Troyer Performance custom tuning to get the best results, as we've specialized in these F-150's for 15 years) - but the improvement in actual acceleration times is more than what the raw power gains would tend to indicate, as there are many things that affect performance in these gas engine trucks tuning that you do not have in the diesels that optimizing yields further performance gains.

From there, a good intake kit does a nice job of helping power - here the Air Force One adds the most power, getting you an average of 17.8 HP on the 5.4 2V's - that is flywheel, figure rear wheel at about 12 or so.

Next up comes getting the exhaust flowing better - then come things like underdrive pulleys and the conversion to electric fans, and we offer kits for all of that and far more - basically, we can take any F-150 as far as any owner wants to go (go figure, it's what we do ).

This is just some quick brief info and I'm sure you'd like more detailed info, so please feel free to give us a call to go over all of this and answer any questions you might have - we can make your wife much happier with the performance, driveability and overall feel of that truck, no problem.

Thanks for your post, & best of luck whatever you decide - oh, and welcome to the gas side of things!
