Superchips tuner and mpg up

Looked around quite a bit before deciding to buy a slightly used Superchips tuner. Just wanted better performance with better mpg. Well I have been running the 91 tune for about 1000 miles and have noticed that my mpg is at a record high at 16.5- 16.8 on each fill up. I have been driving the same style (maybe a tad more aggressive) and the same routes. This is about a 1.5 mpg increase. So I figure a 1.5 mpg increase may seem like nothing but its a 10% increase. I drive 12000 miles or so a year and at 15 mpg that equals 800 gallons a year. if gas is at 2.25/gallon thats 1800 per year but lets round up to $2,000/year. 10% of $2K equals the price I paid for the tuner. A no brainer.

Tjose of you with a Troyer tune will probably eak out a slightly better rwhp and mpg over my Superships tuner so maybe a 2 -2.3 mpg improvement? So it realy does pay for itself over time PLUS you have the added enjoyment of the better throttle response, shift points, reserve power, etc... Makes it a logical buy, plus when you trade to a diff truck you will get "some" of your money back if you sell the tuner.

So all in all, easy to use, great mod. Thanks to all of you who post your exepriences with this and other mods - helps out guys like me! Thought I'd try and do the same for others.
