Edge Evolution Shift problem, please help

I purchased an Edge Evolution EEF2400 for my Ford 2004 F150 4.6Litre. Great product, I have loaded all the current versions from Edge. I am having one problem that bugs me and the people at Edge have been giving me the run around on. I program the module at the number 2 setting for towing. When I'm in the city I will turn OverDrive off on the transmission shiffter. When I do this the transmission will shift into 3rd gear rapidly under normal acceleration. When OD is on the transmission shifts fine under normal acceleration(1st to 2nd shift at 20 mph, lockup at 32mph, 2nd to 3rd at 46mph and into od at about 52mph). When I turn OD off then the shift changes to the following(1st to 2nd 20mph, lockup 32, 2nd to 3rd 38mph). This rapid shift is annoying and hard on the drive train. I have tried to custom change the program but this does not help. I tow a trailer and sometimes need to turn OD off. Does anyone have the same problem? After multiple calls to Edge the last guy I talked to Nate said since I am the only one that has called in with this problem they do not have time to look into it and just stop using the unit and return to the person I bought from. This just irated me big time, can anyone help or have suggestions. Thanks Mark

I have not heard of that problem before. Also, that didn't sound like a good response from Edge. I think that they have more work than people to handle it these days?

Anyway, you might want to go into the customs options and change the standard shift points. This changes the mph that the shift occurs. You can increase the 2-3 shift point only if you would like. Let us know how things turn out for you.

Thanks for the reply, I did adjust the standard shift points to the max. This is when the trans shifts under normal acceleration. no change. Keep in mind it shifts normal until I turn the OD off. Then the 3rd or last shift is rushed. Drops into 3rd under normal acceleration at about 38 mph, causes about 700 to 800 drop in rpms and I really hear it in my Air Force One intake. Sometimes clunks the drive train also. any other suggestions would help. thanks.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you try loading level 1 and seeing if it does the same thing? For that matter you could load level 3 and check that also?

You may also want to post your hex code and see if anyone else out there with the same code is having a similar problem. Also, I would bug the guys at Edge untill they at least implied that they will look into it. My guess is that they're understaffed and probably too worried about trying to get out a version for the GM and Dodge gasoline trucks than to adress issues with the current tuner? They seemed to be very busy with revisions and the like in the beginning, but not much from them lately.........wonder what happened? I think I read that they were bought out awhile back (or merged or something like that)......and maybe the new management just sucks or something?

I havethe Edge and think it is great. Really like the gauges, the main reason I chose it over the Xcal2. If I could not havethe Edge, I would go with a Troyer tuned Xcal2.
