Edge Destruction!

Hey guys, I have a 1997 4.6 Liter F-150 and I installed the edge tuner a few months ago. The other day at the gas station I was retuning it to level 2 from level 3 and accidentally cranked the engine when it was almost done. I completely forgot it was tuning. The engine started, but it ran like crap and neither the edge or the PCM would communicate. It's in the shop right now and they are telling me they will have to manually re-enter the codes to get it to work again and possibly replace the PCM. I think replacing the PCM sounds like total overkill. Anyone have any ideas for what else I can do?

Sorry to hear your truck got messed up. Don't blame the EDGE for operator error. It has a warning on screen that says not to start the vehicle while programming. If the PCM was totally hosed it will have to be manually reprogrammed with your as-built data and the correct calibration. Running the engine with the PCM in program mode could have killed it. The dealership will know once it is hooked to the WDS. Best of luck on the repairs.

Call Edge. They should be able to talk you through restoring your stock tune.

Or the Ford dealer can reflash the stock program.
If they say they can't, their incompetent.
