EDGE - Speedo problem

Hey guys, first post. I just bought a 2006 5.4 F150 and a edge. I hooked it up yesterday but when I put in on the 1st setting the speedometer is way off! When I go 15 mph is says I'm going 80. When I change it back to stock it is fine.

How would I fix this? Would I have to do a custom change? I have stock tires and 3.73's.

thanks!

Did you go into custom options? If you did, you must set the actual gear ratio and actual tire size of the vehicle. Just looking at the custom options will clear out what the PCM settings are for these 2 items.

Ok I checked all the settings and everything is right, the gear ratio and tire size were correct...

I tried both the #1 and #2 this time. And for both make my speedo is still way off.

I gave Edge products a call, but no one answered after 30 mins, so I left a message.

I haven't read about anyone having this problem. Keep us posted, I've got an 06 and my EDGE is working fine. Did you update the unit over the internet before installing it?

What versions did you download? I've been running the latest versions 20 & 21 (beta) without any problems. What is your hex code? I know on the edge website it lists the supported hex codes, you may want to go there and check it out. The list comes up with other version info when you select the updates selection. Did you make sure the key was in the on position when you plugged the unit in? If not I would try to hook it up again. I recall getting an error a while back and I believe that I had tried to plug the unit in when the key was off. Hope everything works out for you.

Hello... Same error I had. The problem is you updated to the incorrect version of software. You need to reconnect to the pc and update as the previous post reads... Version 20 and 21(beta). these are for the NEW 06 trucks. I had the same issue and it was resolved by loading the.. 20 and 21 (beta) version. BoB

Ok.. I reinstalled the new one Version 20 and 21(beta). I got the same problem... So I figured it must be my computer.

I went to my GFs house, download the software and updated the EDGE from her computer. Same error....

I'm going to give EDGE products a call again. Hopefully they answer this time

Before updating the software, did you return your truck to the stock tune? If you left your truck tuned, removed your Edge and then updated it screws up the program.
