Welcome to the community.

There is a wealth of knowledge to be had on this site about this, and just about anything else you can think of. However I recommend doing a search before starting a new thread, next time.

Troyer is a reputable name on this community and I'm sure many people can vouch for it.

Good luck

Troyer tunes are custom tunes set up for YOUR truck, not a generic set of tunes.

As far as hard numbers, someone else that has had their truck on a dyno would have to help you there.

I can say that I went with the Stage 1 kit from them(Magnaflow SISO, AF1 intake, Xcal2 upgrade w/ tunes). I loaded the 93 octane Performance tune and ABSOLUTELY love it!!

Yeah, the Xcal is the best choice, hands-down. And yes you can go back to stock for a dealer check-up no problem.

After reading all the posts I have seen about Mike Troyer's tunes, I ordered one of the Xcal2 tuners under this group buy.

I already have a DiabloSport Predator tuner which I am selling. One of the reasons I decided to do that is because of the reputation that Mike has for producing really good custom tuning. I have purchased a lot of products from Troyer and their customer service is great.

Hi Scott,

Welcome to F-150 Online!

Most people here use our custom tuning, as they know that we have specialized in performance tuning the F-series for 15 years, far longer than anyone else in the industry, and we are well known for our results - to the point that some of the major chipmakers actually call us in for help.

Now the bottom line is, you have to do whatever makes you happy - while we hope that is our tuning, we also sell the common "off the shelf" devices too, for those who are more concerned with getting something right NOW and don't want to wait the coupla-few weeks it takes to get our custom tuning, which is what will give you the best results.

That's really about as simple as I can make it - you might want to take some time to read the posts here in this section to see how others feel about our tuning.

I hope this brief info helps, & please feel free to give us a call to go over any of this in more detail - and best of luck with your truck!

Hope the group buy is still going on. I just got my Magnaflow SISI with the 3" from the Y pipe. I want in on this with the AF1 badly. I'll be calling the guys at Troyer tomorrow.

Yes you can still get in - in fact, we're extending the Group Buy due to popular demand!

Been lurking mostly but thought I would let Mr. Troyer know that this group buy thing just cost me a bundle. Went with the Stage 2 kit for my 04 F-150 SuperCrew FX-4. Just waiting for the downloads for the Xcal2 and then I can put the AF-1 3.25 intake on and download the tunes. I already have the Mangnaflow SIDO catback system, undrive pulleys and electric fans installed and sent Crystal the info regarding the possible "reflash." Now I am just waiting for the tunes. So, thanks for costing me a bunch of $$$ Mr. Troyer

Hi SuperFly,

Well, glad we could lighten your load a bit for you - just kidding!

It won't be long for the tunes, we're already up to the sheets that were submitted thru October 9th.

"lighten the load"

Now you gotta like a man who can take your money and make you laugh while doing it.

Through Oct. 9, WhoHo, getting very close, very close indeed.

Mike and others in the loop,

I ordered my x-cal2 and af1 and have not filled out my worksheets. E-fans? Should I order them to be shipped before I fill out my worksheets if I can spare some funds? How much? Also,I have read about the UD pulleys. What's the deal on those(haven't done much work on anything but old jeeps). What are the advantages? What is the cost for both? I would call if not for the fact that I have called the about 10 times in the past few days.

Any help and opinions woul be great.

Sorry if this a little of topic for this thread. I didn't want to start a new Troyer thread.

Thanks

Hi FoMoCoFan,

Well, being in busienss, of course I should say that yes, if you can spare the coin, by all means add the E-fans & underdrives to your order and put them on your CPW's - but then, it's easy for me to spend someone *else's* money, isn't it?

All kidding aside, we are still doing our Group Buy, so if you want to do both of those, we will make you a special deal right now and just add that to your existing order so that you get the maximum discount possible!

In terms of tuning needs, the E-fans do not affect the tuning, and in most trucks computer codes, we are already raising the idle speed in gear just enough to offset the underdrive pulleys, also because the factory idle speed in gear is too low to begin with in so many cases.

Now this is also an adjustment that you can easily do yourself using the XCal 2, as it allows you to raise the idle speed, and then also alter the idle speed in gear separately - and the only thing that needs to be raised is the idle speed in gear, generally speaking, for underdrive pulleys.

Now as to pricing, we cannot get into any specifics on pricing here, that is against the rules of F-`150 Online - besides, since you already have the XCal 2 & AF1 on order, we're going to want to cut you the best deal possible, so you'd want to give us a quick call for that info anyway. If you can't make a long-distance call from work, just shoot us an email and we can call you, if you like. Send us the email to: sales@troyerperformance.com - and figure it usually takes a day or two for us to get thru our email, as our email load is pretty heavy - just FYI so you'll know!!!

Thanks for your business, and for your post - and talk to you soon!
