Dyno facility near Riverside, Ca???
Dyno facility near Riverside, Ca???
I'm looking for a dyno shop near my house. I searched on dynojet.com, but most of them are disconnected phone numbers. Does anyone have a good experience/recommendation with a local shop?
I just had my truck dyno tuned (w/ XCAL2 to flash my PCM) on a dynojet yesterday at Swanson Performance. I found him through SCT FLASH website as an authorized SCT dealer. This guy has been in the industry for more than 20 years and had been tuning for 10 years. He had been a FORD certified technician, all his certificate are current and up to date. His shop is clean and well kept. He's professional and lets you feel at home when you are at his shop. He's not in this field to rob your money, he just loves to tune. I think he charges 125 for 3 pulls and 150 an hour for dyno tune.
if you decide to go there, tell him Ro sent you. His name is Danny Swanson.

x2 for Swanson
Great reputation among the fast Ford crowd.
Gave me a great tune for my truck.
A few other CA guys from this site have used him as well...check the supercharger forum.

I'd call him and see if he'll datalog for another tuner. I don't think many tuners want to help competitors out like that.
Given a choice, I'll take a custom dyno-tune from a local tuner versus a mail-order tune any day of the week but that's just my opinion given my own experieinces.
If you're gonna pay to put it on the rollers why not get a tune optimized for your truck while you are at the dyno shop...versus paying to put it on the rollers...send the data away...wait for a tune...put it back on the rollers to see if you gained/lost power...repeat the process...it'll save time in the long run...just my two cents.
BTW you can datalog on the street without a dyno.
