Chip/Tuner Help!!!!

Hey Gang,

I'm hoping you all can help me out as I am a "newbie" when it comes to this tuner/chip performance thing. Let me start off by stating that I am a first time Screw owner and have enjoyed and noticed a change in performance by adding a CAI and a new exhaust system. My questions are?? What will I gain by adding a tuner or chip to my truck? Will this void my warranty? Who makes the best chips/tuners? Are they easy to use??? As you can see, I have a lot of questions. If someone would be willing to post some info about this stuff, I'd sure appreciate it. I'd really like to be informed about this but at the present moment I do not know anything about it. Anyway, someone please......

Why would you say I'm a troll?? I'm simply trying to get some informed info here. As for living next door to Mike Troyer, is he in the Northern Va. D.C. area because I've never heard of him. Believe me, I'm looking for info here on the boards and if you look enough, you'll see that I've posted on here quite a bit trying to help feloow F-150 owners as well as asking for help. Here's to hoping someone THAT DOESN'T THINK I'M A TROLL will indeed help with some info.

Edge and Troyer seem to be the preferred tuners for the F-150's. The edge is basically a off the shelf unit that you can get your hands on much quicker and offers decent performance gains. Some are talking around 35+ HP some reporting higher. It also has setting for grade of gas used and towing if that is needed in your truck. The Edge also mounts in your truck and can display engine and trans vitals, temp and many other things. So if you wanted to know more about your truck while it is running this might be a good choice.
SEcond is the Troyer. He custom builds you a profile, well actually 3, based on what mods you currently have in your truck and what you use your truck for/driving style. It seems to take about a month from purchase date till delivery date but because it is made specifically for your mods and how you use your truck it tends to work just a bit better than the edge. Keep in mind I am a newb and spitting out info I have read on here, but I do have a troyer tuner on order.

It will not void your warranty as long as you remove it before returning your vehicle to ford for service. The stock profile is saved in the tuner and you can go back to it at anytime leaving no trace of the tuner.

Who makes the best chips tuners? See above

They seem easy enough to use. I am sure they both come with full instruction manuals and many people on here have the edge or the troyer so it should be easy enough to get help if any is needed.

For what its worth I dont think your a Troll, besides trolls hardly ever make sig lines, they dont plan to hang around for long

Check out the XCal2 with Mike's custom tunes, they're really good; it's been the best performance mod I've done

* another thing, the Group Buy is going on and it's a sweet deal

Hello hivoltage,

We are about 2.5 hours away from you, and it's a very nice drive out here to the mountains.

Please feel free to give us a call to go over all of this in more detail, and if you can, take advantage of our current Group Buy that is going on right now on our custom tuning.

We have specialized in the performance tuning of these F-150's for 15 years, longer than anyone else, and are well known for our results - that is why you will see so many people here using us. We also do literally anything else performance related for these vehicles, all the way up to full race builds, and have plenty of customers with everything from the mild daily driver to the all-out 800+ HP race trucks that are still daily drivers.

Glad you dropped by to check things out, and we hope to hear from you!
