Finally bought sct and af1

On friday I talked to Crystal and ordered the sct/af1 combo. Group buy price of course. Turned in my worksheets saturday morning. This morning Anita verified that they recived the fax. Now like many others waiting, wondering what it's gonna be like. Thinking of what mod to do next, probably ud pulleys.
Wonder if i could beat my friends stock z71 with the 5.3L with the tuner and af1.

2005 f-150 exteded cab STX
4.6L v8
3:55 rear
Magna flow si/do (dumped)
Silencer removed, cutup airbox, drop in K&n filter(going to be replaced with
AF1 intake)

I just got off the phone with Anita and added UD pulleys to my order. I was thinking I might as well get the most outa this group buy. Can't say how much i payed for the 3 mods, but I can say I sure did save some cash, so order when you can! From what I read, installing af1, ud pulleys, and xcal tuner, it's gonna really wake up my truck. I sure hope it's enough to take on the 5.3 chevy. Already looking at future mods. Gears or fans?

Anita said i was number 35 in line...I guess it's better then 36. I guess while I wait i'll try to understand how to do my datalogging. Wonder what it's like to have Mike Troyers knowledge...

Angry Can reboot cause deprogramming?

Can a truck be unprogrammed by disconneting the battery?

After rebooting the truck, I get the feeling the truck was chipped or programmed when I bought it. I've lost the kicka$$ shove me forward shift that i had and truck is not as quick or responsive. I get the impression I've lost more than just 40k worth of age. truck still runs good but losing the strong shift gives me impression It had been programmed.

Other useless info:
I tried the "tornado" a while back. didnt see any results so i contacted them because it says on the box - "17mpg for 2002 f150 5.4l" They told me the truck needed to be "rebooted" so the maf would recalibrate for new air flow...
hence the reason for the reboot... damnit... I hate that guy..

Otherwise,
after testing the tornado (I know - its on the worthless waste of $$ list)
in and out several times I found it does give a little stronger pull and mileage while pulling a trailer (7000lb). I believe mostly because throttle is actually open where the vortex effect can actually work. otherwise, most driving in the 5.4l doesnt take much throttle, which doesnt open the butterfly and doesnt allow the effect.

Hi.

Your reboot is clearing out the 'keep-alive-memory' (a.k.a KAM), portion of the pcm - hence all your adaptive strategy optimizations - the 'learning' folks refer to, are cleared. Shifts can be harsher, and perfomance may feel different, but it comes back. It's takes a while, though. There are other posts that discuss this in greater detail - you can look for those if you wish.

Cheers
Bubba

Once i get my new af1 intake i do plan on selling my K&n drop in filter. I bought it for 45 bucks at autozone. Gonna head to my local shipping store and see how much shippping is going to be. Email me at bi_eep@yahoo.com if your intrested. thx

If you can, def. get in the group buy....you'll save not alittle, but quite a bit of cash.

Its been a month since I paid for my tunes so I gave Troyers a call. Crystal tells me I am 4th in line and will probably get my tunes on Tuesday.

Hmmm, I wonder if I can bid out my place in line........Nah, I've waited long enough
