Ecal2 & Edge question
Ecal2 & Edge question
Guy's I was wondering if someone has ran an EDGE programer and also a Troyer tuned Xcal2?? I'm just trying to figure out if there is a big enough difference(in the seat feeling or towing) to make the switch. I don't want to start a big EDGE is better, no no xcal2 is better. I just want some input on this particular scenario. Thanks.
Those are two completely different items, and you can't really compare them, side by side.
If you need/want the gauges, get the Edge.
If you need/want the most possible performance, get the Xcal2.
Simple.

First off I have neither tuner, but am on the fence.
What's wrong with having both? TC's custom tunes and Edge. Say you have the xcal2 93 perf loaded and run the edge for the extra gauges? Then the next week you feel like running edge level 3, load it and go. I see nothing wrong with that. Best of both worlds so to speak. BTW, please don't flame me.

Well, except the amount of money you would have to spend to get both of them.
That might be a little expensive for some......

The 1st post today I read said thanks Troyer for the great edge slayer tune.To me it sounds like Mike is writing tunes for the edge product also.Might want to call Mike @TP and ask him.I read this statement{("Curently, I'm runing a 93 Octane "Edge Slaying" tune.
Thanks Troyer for the great, "Edge" smackin' tunes!")}
----It sounds like Mike wrote this tune???????????
Anyway,if you are towing I would go with the xcal2 and troyer tunes. You can also wait longer for sct to come out with the new product talked about in this forum earlier this week, have that loaded with Troyed tunes. That is what I would do,i have the xcal2 and tunes but that sct looks sweet so i have to get it when it hits the streets!!!

That being said, you can pretty much keep it forever and get it retuned whenever you get a new Ford, so resale shouldn't be too big an issue. And if you're buying new vehicles every couple years, what's a few hundred bucks on top of that anyway?

Hook-line-sinker..................you answered everything perfectly.
Xcal2 vs Edge - I'm going to find out
I have a troyer Xcal2 for my 05 SCREW 4x4, but will be replacing it with the Edge Revolution this week. I'd like to clear the Xcal2 and make it available for the next user so TP can create your next tune. TP quoted $225 for just the tune so if you need an available Xcal2, let me know. It can be cleared per TP. It's completely up to date running the LL3 files with complete adjustability and datalogging. bwilcoxson@bhwconnect.com
I'll post my results when the Edge comes in.

Or you can get the Xcal and a scan gauge to monitor whatever it is you want to. I've seen them on Ebay for $165.
