Custom tuning is the # 1 biggest bang for the buck performance mod imo

Air silencer removal... Search this topic... Free one!! Gives more sound under the hood, not sure if it adds performance or not...

Hi Hookey,

Actually, you've got an excellent truck to modify, especially from a tuning standpoint - it's light, and having a manual tranny which means lower driveline losses than the automatics- and because it's a 4.6, chances are it can't even go open loop on it's stock tuning, which means you will get larger than average power gains from our custom tuning.

When looking to improve the performance of these (and virtually any other computer-controlled vehicle), the single best bang for the buck is in the tuning - our custom tuning provides more performance gain than anything else for the same or less cost. Now that doesn't mean it will turn into a rocketship, but it certainly will be noticeably better, a lot more fun to drive, and it's the best bang for the buck - and thus where a lot of people start their performance modifications.

From there, the best bang for the buck is a good intake kit (the Air Force One is doing the best job there), and then next up is the exhaust - and don't skimp when it comes to exhaust, as it makes a difference.

And it just progresses from there, it's all a matter of how much power you want to add - but tuning is the place to start in terms of bang for the buck and enjoying that vehicle more.

I hope this info helps, & please feel free to give us a call to go over any details, questions, etc - and good luck with your truck!
