Pro M 92mm MAF... tuning issues?

Does anyone know of any problems with the Pro M 92mm MAF for the ford lightning? I picked one up pretty cheap, but ive heard a few people say they cause problems and are hard to tune?

Hi built54,

Well, the real issue is simply this - most of the time those MAF meters simply do not work properly.

For example, I went thru 5 of them on my personal Lightning before I got one that would actually be "tuneable," meaning that it responded properly to MAF transfer function changes correctly - it also took 3 units before I got one that didn't have terrible tooling marks all over it.

In short, Pro-M simply is not the way to go - you can get all the MAF meter capacity you could ever need by using either the MAF extender or an SCT BA MAF - we carry all of that in stock. Now keep in mind that any time you change the MAF meter to anything other than the same identical stock unit, you *will* need custom tuning to get the A/F ratios correct, so you will also need custom tuning with any MAF meter change.

You might want to give us a call to go over this in proper detail, I'll be happy to go over that with you.
