Edge Level 3

I've got a buddy that runs his truck on level 3 with 87 octane and he has'nt had any problems. I run level 2 with 87 octane because i dont want to pay for that high gas. I ain't even sure if the octane points on gas is what is says it is, I just wonder if there not just tryin to make a profit. Anybody else just run 87 on level 3??

You know, that idea comes across my mind, but there HAS to be some law in congress about having specific levels to each grade of gas... Thats the only thing stopping me, that and the fact that I just got my edge today with a full tank of 87... lol

They have to make a certain ocatne of gas. Now your station that you get gas may have them mixed up, but I do't think so.

I wouldn't run Level 3 on 87 octane. These trucks have knock sensors and chances are you won't hear it pinging. But that pinging paired with having the timing too high for the octane....will probably blow your motor. Thats why Edge says not to run level 3 with anything less than 91 octane.
