Talking How do you remove the TP excal2 Grin?

By returning to stock

I got my ecal2 about two-three weeks ago; it came in the day before my 350-mile camping trip. It was very hard to wait the 6-week lead-time BUT it was well worth it! I plugged in the 93-tow program and off we went.. I had to keep looking in my mirrors to make sure that the trailer was still there. The tunes did all that was promised and more. If you are on the fence about pulling the trigger don’t be afraid… do it.
My 01 5.4 F-150 supercrew is all stock and I am more than happy with the large upgrade in power and torque. I can’t wait until the camping season is over and I can play with the 93-performance tune.
Also I would like to say thank you to Mike and the rest of the crew at Troyer Performance, you guys took the time out of your busy day and answered all my questions and produced a top quality product. I am looking forward to the next time that we can do business.

No I haven’t had my truck on a dyno yet and I am not planning to do it ether. I could be wrong but in reading all the documents and talking with TP I don’t think that it is needed. For two reasons: my truck it mostly stock and that it is a pre-04. The truck built after 04 have the newer maf on it and Mike is finding that they sometimes run lean.

The TP grin is a very tough feature to remove. It's standard with my truck..

Pretty nice huh?

They're great down there even if the only off-roading Mike does is to his dyno lift.

Hi vze32nmi,

Thanks for a funny post!

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the difference that jut our tuning alone makes - it does indeed wake up the truck, makes towing easier, etc., just as you mentioned, & thanks for your input on that. I hope you continue to enjoy it, especially once you get a chance to play with your *performance* tuning!

And for Vader - that was pretty funny, off roading my dyno lift. It's funny actually, as the area we are in we have a LOT of guys take their trucks off road and just pound the beejezus out of them - I just never got into that, though I enjoy watching others do it. I've just always been a go-fast on pavement kinda guy, I suppose, as I started out drag racing, and will probably always be a pavement-based drag racer at heart - though I do love the mud drags, now *that* is a sight!
