Troyer Tune

Just curious about the TP tune.
What difference is there between it and the Edge when it comes to power gains and mileage gains?
What is the approximate price?
2005 S-Crew 4.6l.

The main difference is TP’s tunes are custom built specifically for you and the edge is canned, off the shelf

Yea the TP tunes can be setup specificatly for your truck if you do the dataloging that he recommends. The edge is a more general tune for our trucks. I think you get some good results for what it is. You also get the benefit of four gauges because it can display a variety of info.

Which one should you choose? Is all in what you want. There are numerous threads with all kinds of views.

Hi Jason,

There is indeed a difference in terms of both raw power and performance gains, as nothing beats the kind of in-depth tuning that we do. We go much further into the PCM's programming, areas that off-the-shelf types of devices do not get into.

We have also specialized in tuning these trucks far longer than anyone else, 15 years now - so we're well known for our results.

It's really comparing apples to oranges, meaning it's really not fair to compare off-the-shelf devices to our in-depth tuning - the results we get are to be expected.

Some people make the mistake of thinking that you do not need our more thorough tuning if you do not have a significantly modified vehicle, but that of course simply isn't the case at all - we gain more safe & sustainable power & performance on these trucks even if they are in bone-stock trim.

Now of course, we carry the of-the-shelf types of units as well, for those who want them - but most of our customers prefer to get the superior results that our custom tuning delivers.

If you'd like to go over any of this, cover the actual differences in more detail, etc., please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to help you decide if off-the-shelf is OK or if you'd be happier with our custom tuning.

I already have the Edge. I may try to get one of your tunes next summer. I have a couple of things cooking right now, however.
It would be nice to have your tune running in conjunction while using the Edge as a monitor. I suppose that is possible?
Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,

Yes, that is indeed possible, we have a number of Edge owners doing exactly that!
