Troyer Tunes shifting problems?

I have had my tunes for about a week and have tried the 91 perf. and the 87 tow and have noticed more on the tow mode that my shifting seems off.
Shifting from 1st and 2nd is quick and firm but third gear shifts at about 45 mph down to 1200-1500 rmp giving me no further pick up without having to down shift back to 2nd by "getting on it" to achive 55 plus mph once over that im okay at 1500 rpms. In slower traffic 35-45 mph I am constently downshifting to hold this speed.

This is from a conservitive driving mode, while WOT response is fine in town driving in traffic gives me this problem.

I hate to say it but slow speed in traffic driving seemed better in stock mode, Any thoughts?

Call Mike Troyer. You'll find everyone that has a question or a problem with a tune from him receives the same advice....

Leaving for Covington, VA tomorrow @ 7:00 a.m. for the Dyno Weekend. Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

What will you be driving? I am pulling out of the Akron Ohio area about 11:00 AM or so and may run into you along the way..I will be in an '04 Medium Wedgewood lowered 4x4 Supercrew with a Veterans plate on it....It will also have my Company logo across the lower portion of the tailgate...See you there..I should be arriving at the Best Western Mountain View about dinner time.....The shop is only 1/4 mile away from that location....

Did you ever get this resolved? I ask because sometimes I feel the same way about my tunes. Maybe one day I will get around to putting my truck on the dyno. Problem is its been to long and I will have to pay for the re-tune if it is needed. But you are right something seems to be missing in slower traffic.

Actually, it sounds to me like you are simply expecting far too much - your engine is not going to have significant power in 3rd gear below 1500 rpms at light throttle like that - of course not - nor does it have more power stock there, either.

That scenario is clearly lugging the engine well below it's power band, which is why it has to downshift to accelerate with any alacrity. Expecting it to take off and accelerate from that scenario without a downshift simply is not reasonable.

Additionally, I suspect that this is actually more of a 3-4 4-3 problem since you mention it's most noticeable in the towing mode, for reasons I am not going to get into here lest it help teach our competition - so I suggest you give us a call about this, and as a reminder, if you think you have a problem with something you have purchased from us, you need to call us to discuss it, as those are matters that are of a nature that are between vendor & customer - and thus not something we're going to discuss further here, as per the rules of F-150 Online.

Please feel free to call us to go over this, OK? Thanks!
