Upgrade cost??
Upgrade cost??
What does it cost to get an upgrade tune (from Mike), if you add something onto your truck after it was tuned?
In relation to this, I'm thinking about getting the Troyer underdrive pulley kit and the xcal 2.
Should I buy both now? I want the computer first, but am not sure if I want the pulleys. Are the pulleys worth it for 13 more hp and putting me down $200?
Should I wait and just get a new tune when and if I get them? OR just get them now?
Thanks

I suggest you get the XCal2 with TP’s custom tunes first. Chances are you’ll be more than satisfied with the overall improved drivability and the extra power. Things like under drive pulleys can easily be added later to your custom tunes via email. Call Mike and see what he says
Of the 5 basic bang for the buck mods you can do (intake, exhaust, XCal2, underdrive pullies, and e-fans)....the only one (and correct me if i'm wrong) that you have to worry about changing your tune for later is the intake. If your going to put out for a XCal2 and the pullies.....save your money on the pullies and go ahead and get the intake. you'll be glad you did.
In any case, good luck with whatever you do.

Maybe it's quite silly to ask if there's a problem if I use Airaid MIT (tube only) to replace my stock and KN air-filters (to replace stock filter)? Is this will affect my Mike's Tuning (SCT2)? your advice is highly appreiated.

Hi MZ89,
Well, in terms of the best bang for the buck, by far it's our tuning, as nothing else for the same or less cost will improve the performance that much - not that it's going to feel like a supercharger of course, it's just that it's the single best "bang for the buck," so to speak.
Also, if you decide to do underdrive pulleys later on, you can bump up your idle speed a little bit if you need to all on your own, using the features of the XCalibrator 2 that we use to load our custom tuning into - so you will have that ability, no problem!
With regard to the Airaid MIT (or Airaid Junior as some call it), we have seen both scenarios - we have seen where it *does* affect the A/F's, and then we've seen it not affect the A/F's - and I believe that this is simply a matter of when it was made (and no, don't ask me for production dates or dates of changes, I don't' know them ion the MIT). In other words, the "newer" Airaid's & MIT's generally do not require any changes to the tuning, whereas the older units (going back at couple of years) did tend to lean the engine out and thus require correction - so that's the best answer I can give you.
For example, if we were to sell someone an Airaid or an MIT & tuning right now, we would not do anything different to the tuning due to either of those parts, they are pretty stable now. And while the full Airaid kit does add some nice power (primarily down low), personally I would not to the MIT - it was originally designed to help those getting CEL's with the full kit to have something to give them a little bit more power and not have a CEL.
