I think I'm going to end up getting an edge because I like the gauges and the TP tuned xcal2 for the custom tunes. Don't call me indecisive.
Actually I call that good thinking. Best of both worlds.

The Xcal doesn't have any guages, mpg readings, etc... And you're not supposed to leave it in your truck. Which means that you won't have it to scan yours, and other people's trouble codes, and do 0-60 times, and change your tune if you need to pull something, etc.....

Some better deal!

This will be the first negative comment I've ever made towards the Xcal. It is purely my opinion and if you like the Xcal, then GREAT! You got what you wanted, now quit trying to push it on everybody else. I'm sick of it! Xcal is good, Edge is good. Take your pick. They're not the same thing, so comparisons are moot. I wanted the edge cause I though it was better for my situation and it was VERY cheap. (I could have bought almost 4 edges with the price of an Xcal.) If I was racing my truck, I might have bought the Xcal. Plain and simple.

MSD just bought out Edge, and they've been having tons of server issues as a result. That could explain a lot of updating problems...

Until you've tried the edge's tunes, guages, diagnostics, custom options, cool color display, fingertip tuning ability, and matching pod YOU have no idea!

I wish people would stop haggling about which one is the better deal. The Xcal and Edge do not compare. I bought the Edge for reasons un-related to performance.(performance was just a benefit) So the Xcal would not be a bad value, but no value to me, cause I wanted the guages.

Now if I wanted to squeel my tires faster, or be able(maybe) to outrun a V6 mustang with my pickup truck, I would have gotten the Xcal!

Why can't a question about the EDGE be shared without someone from Xcal2 jumping in and bashing the EDGE?

I don't understand it.

I have searched and saved several complaints about not only the xcal, but all the others tuners as well.

I would post them here, but it would take several pages and I don't want to be spanked by the boss.

Is it to much to ask to let us have a discussion without an Xcal2, MT, fan club member jumping in and interrupting?

I know this may be a stupid question, but where on the website do you go to download the lightning software? I've been looking for an hour now and can't find it. P.S. The Edge rocks!
