Tune Swapping???

I've ridden high performance motorcycles where custom tunes (fuel & ignition) were swapped via the internet on a regular basis. Why doesn't this activity take place on this forum?

Let's say Member X has a 2006 F150 with a bone stock 5.4L engine decides to buy an X Cal 2 off of eBay and an AF1 inlet from Performance Shop A. Is there any problem with him getting an internet custom tune from Member Y with a 2006 F150 with a stock 5.4L engine with an AF1 intake?

I know Member Y paid for the custom tune and it would be a little unfair to him to pay and not Member X...besides this...Is there anything wrong? A custom internet tune appears to be a generic tune if the A/F measurements from dyno'ing are not considered...

You’re taking a chance buying a used XCal2 off ebay; may end up costing you more than if you just got a new one with three custom done specifically for your truck

Agreed.

With the investment we have in these trucks, it does not make sense to experiment with different types of programs unless you are one of the few that know exactly what you are doing.

And I don't fit into that category...
