new mike t tune
had mike retune my truck after i installed the 2000 and later mass air and had the shifts in the transmission sofened up so the wife would ride in it again.as expected it was right on target but i sure hope i wasnt suppoesed to replace the pro m cai kit with another cai kit cause i left the stock air box on with the new meter.but it sure does run and drive alot better.now im thinking about a kenny bell but thats next months project.
Hi Gil,
Great to "see" you again!
No, you can still use any air intake kit on that particular truck (a Lightning) - it was just the Pro-M MAF meter that needed to come off. See, the Pro-M MAF's are notorious for leaning out the engine, and also for being basically un-tunable in terms of dialing in consistent A/F's, and *that* is why any time we see *any* vehicle with a Pro-M (and some other aftermarket units) MAF on it, we tell the owner to pull it and replace it, so that we can properly tune it without numerous sessions of datalogging & hours of work - usually only to find it won't tune. So that's why the Pro-M MAF needed to be ditched.
And you'll make more power with that 90mm MAF on there anyway - we just need to get some data on it to make sure the A/F's are where they need to be since the air intake kit is different, and then it'll be done.

Yeah, it's probably very close - and our next dyno day is August 11th & 12th, which I will be posting a general announcement for all to see in a new thread here today, hopefully, as time permits!
