Tp Tune for new Comp Cam?

Anyone have any experience with a Troyer tune and a new cam? The new Comp Cams have caught my attention as a possability and they would need a little more custom tuning than my Edge (which I do really like) can handle, so the other option is SCT and considering Mikes reputation it seems like a logical place to go.

If I did it I would also probably go to the larger AF1 from my current Airaid so it would be a few months to put the money together. I am really hoping to hit 300 RWHP eventually and still be N/A and a daily driver so I am looking at the Comp Cms 127100 or 127150.

Thanks for your thoughts and replies.

Mike definately has the abilities and knowledge to provide you with the tuning you will require for the cams..A lot of people here do not know that they not only sell bolt on products, but that they can provide you with everything from intakes to a full blown race engine, and the proper tuning to go along with it. Give him a call...

Yes, we do custom tunes for vehicles with all kinds of aftermarket cams, from Comp cams to Mod Max to Crane to you name it, basically.

For the newer F-150 5.4 3-valve engines that are going to be driven on the street, we generally recommend the 127100 and their spring package, so that you have decent idle quality for the street and with the stock torque converter. Their 127150 is really intended for blower motors, and requires at least 4.10 gears (if not more), and you really need a torque converter to take advantage of their full power band - though that is not required, you would simply have to keep the shift points down to a level that the stock TQ can live with. There are further grinds (like the 127300 & 127350) that require gears & 2500-3000 rpm stall speed converter and will have an extremely rough idle - basically more of a race style cam setup that is more applicable to the 4.6 3V's which wind higher than the 5.4 3V's - not something you want for the street in your daily driver 5.4 3V.

Tuning for a *properly designed & selected* cam in these mod motors is not a problem, we've been doing that for years - as Mark said, we provide everything from simple tuning to all-out race engines, and everything in between - and yes, we are a dealer for Comp Cams.

For any questions on this, give us a cal at our number listed below.
