Exclamation Superchips Update Problem

I just purchased a superchips micro tuner, never used, new in the box on ebay. When I used it, i got a message that a software update is required. Looking at the Superchips warranty, I now see that I have a problem - They state that they will not support their tuner without a receipt - Even though the tuner can only be used on a single vehicle due to a VIN lock. Someone paid for a single vehicle use that has not been used. - It does not seem fair for Superchips not to support that single VIN. Let this be a warning not to buy Superchips from anything but an authorized dealer(if at all) - Wish I had known this before my purchase. Has anyone had this situation and how was it handled? I am calling Superchips soon to see what they can do to help me - I'm afraid that they will want me to pay thru the nose for something they were already paid for. F150Mikel

Another member had a similar problem...he let the dealership flash his ECU and the tuner wouldn't work after that...he bought the tuner from somewhere like ebay and didn't get a receipt...Superchips wouldn't reprogram his without a receipt...wish I could help you...good luck...
