A local shop stocks the Superchips tuner so I decided to get one and see what it was all about. I just filled up with 87 octane so Im gonna have to wait on the Hi Performance map but overall Im pretty satisfied. The shifting is greatly improved. I finally have some "get up and go!" ability. Before the flash it seemed that I would give it alot of gas to not go very far. Now it is very responsive to the throttle. Im looking forward to the 93 map. I feel like the filter made little difference but for 35 bucks I figured Id give it a try. I think an Airaid or a MAC intake will be my next upgrade.
BTW, I have an 04 Super Cab with a 5.4L 3V.

I decided to spring for some 93 octane map so I could try the 91+ Hi performance map. As I was pumping the gas I upgrade my PCM with the map. 9 minutes or so and it was done.. Right off the bat I felt an improved throttle response. I dont have to give it much gas now to get it going. I think this is going to be where I see improved mpg. Also, on the 87 or 91 map, the transmission shiftuing is vastly improved over stock. This alone was well worth the price of the 1714.
I just ordered an AirForce 1 today from Troyer so I'll give an update on that when I install it and all the PCM to adjust to it..

chap:
i have the same set-up you have, but i run mine on the 91 octane all the time. my next upgrade is e-fans and underdrive pully.i run 87 octane with 10% ethanol on the 91 setting.i know people will say you're not suppose to,but it does'nt knock and i'm sure i'm going to have some response to this.
