Angry Rip-off Alert Superchips Micro Tuner

Purchased a Micro Tuner in 2004. My F150 went to the shop for the 30000 mile checkup and the memory was reflashed. The Micro Tuner does not work and SUPERCHIPS wants a proven receipt to reprogram the Micro Tuner.

IF you do not have a receipt they will ask you to pay 200.00 for reprogramming. Also they blame FORD for improving there onboard computer. This company I recommend staying clear.

why not go back to who you purchased it from and get a copy of the invoice?

ifyou used a credit card, maybe itmeized credit card statement or maybe call the credit card company and ask if they have the records.

as a last resort , tell superchips the serial number and ask them to have to have the dealer call you or who the dealer is so that you can contact him.

with so many people buying used one over ebay and the internet, i am sure superchips has heard every excuse in the book as to why one needs to be reprogramed.

Because they don't want you tuning your truck, then your neighbor's, then you dad's, then your brother's, then your sister's, then your mother's, then your girl friend's, then your teacher's, then your preacher's, then your advisor's, then your dog's, then your grandmother's, then your uncle's, then your...................

Sounds to me that they do not stand 100% behind there product. Especially all I want is the tuner to work as advertised.

Hopefully they go out of business so they don't have to tune another truck, ripp off our neighbor's or screw our dad's, brother's, sister's, mother's, girl friend's, teacher's, preacher's, advisor's, dog's, grandmother's, and uncle's.

Give me a break!!! Tuners are more of a software device, as opposed to a hardware device. Just like when you go buy (seperate from your computer) Windows XP. Can you install it on more than 1 computer? NO, not unless you buy the operating rights for multiple machines. Well, it's the same thing. Only in order to buy operating right for multiple "machines" from Superchips, you have to buy multiple tuners. I think most everyone gets that concept...

It is unfortunate that you believe in the status quo. This company will fail in time.

Superchips engineers missed the mark on this product.

So you have obviously bought this item used, or possibly from a guy in an alley, saying "hey buddy wanna buy a tuner?" If not just go back and get a copy of the invoice where you bought it new. They may even be able to help you with your problem, many times a dealer will have more pull with a company than an individual.

You have a ****load of options, take one of them and quit your whining.

There are not many products out there that will just warranty or repair something with out a POP.

Highly doubtful. Obviously you don't know how the product works or how to use it.
Everybody with a tuner knows you put your truck back to stock before taking it to the dealer. They also know to tell the dealer DO NOT reflash my PCM.

Bought it new, 2 years ago. After the dealership I tried to tune my truck and I received a code that I needed to update my tuner: FILE RXAQ5PA #E-6D.

It is unfortunate that the internet gives you a feeling of bravery in your statements.

2004FordF150BLK, do not post this in more than one forum on this site. That is called cross-posting and it will result in all of your duplicate posts being removed. I have removed the duplicate post twice now and one more offense and your account will be suspended.

Might I suggest you put the same effort into contacting the company you bought the product from to get a receipt as you are putting into this little internet tirade and you might get some satisfaction.

Telling a one-sided story without any details of where you purchased the product will not get you any satisfaction from anyone on this site, especially given that Superchips is an advertiser, as is their largest and most respected dealer, and you seem hell-bent on taking shots at those that are actually trying to help you.

I did tune the truck back. The product should not care if my PCM was reflashed. I should be able to tune the truck back. Again the product is poorly designed

Did not know about the cross-posting, this will not happen again. On the note I am informing the consumer on the bad practices of SUPERCHIPS. Sounds like you are covering up for the advertiser from your last statement.

I'd place a little blame where it belongs. My local Ford dealership wouldn't even think about reflashing either of my trucks without asking me. One is modified enough it can't be returned to stock before visiting the dealership..... a good problem to have.

You need to be in charge when at any dealership. My instructions for the mechanics are clear: call first before doing anything we haven't discussed.

Oh, by the way, I did authorize a reflash on one truck and then did pay for new custom tuning. Skip those reflashes.

Good luck,

enb

When your truck was reflashed, it was probably a new code that didn't exist when your tuner was made, thus it won't work. Superchips wants a receipt proving you are the original owner so they will update it. They don't want to update every tuner that is resold numerous times.
