06 KR 5.4 and want a tuner for MPG and towing
New - 06 KR 5.4 4x4 ----I have read a lot of threads here and I am seeing most tuner posts are referring to added HP. I am looking mostly to add MPG. Is this poosible with one of the tuners and if so, which one. I will be towing a boat on a regular basis and want it to perform well there too. If anyone has MPG number or ideas let me know. btw....are there warranty issues with using the tuners? Thanks........

Hi kbradford,
Congratulations on your new 2006 King Ranch, that's quite the truck, & we've tuned many of them!
It's also a very heavy beast, and won't get particularly good fuel economy just speaking in general, it's simply not a vehicle that is ever going to get "god" fuel mileage, of course - no 3-ton truck does. But there *are* things you can do to help it in that regard!
For example, we provide a set of 3 of our Troyer Performance custom tunes, and if you like, we can set one of them up to be optimized for best MPG while towing, for example.
Just FYI - Some other parts we offer that a lot of people use to help improve both power and fuel mileage are our electric fan kits & underdrive pulley sets. They reduce parasitic losses and thus free up more power to the rear wheels while at the same time causing the engine to burn less fuel.
And yes, you can use a properly-tuned device and not cause damage to your vehicle - that is the standard for maintaining your warranty, by the way - the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act provide for we vehicle owners to be able to do reasonable modifications to our vehicles and have the warranty remain intact as long as the modifications you do do not actually *damage* the vehicle - that's the law.
I hope this brief info helps, & if you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below & we'll be happy to help!
Best of luck with your truck,
