i had upgraded a little while ago from windows98se and now i can't seem to get the computer to recognize when i plug in the unit to update it.....i uninstalled and went to the web site for the full install, did the pre install drivers multiple times before plugging in the unit and still get not connected...any thoughts guys? thanks....

Check to make sure your firewall & anti-virus aren't on. That seems to be a stumbling block for a lot of guys.

 

i am running avast and xp....how do i stop the xp firewall?

 

Go to control panel from the start menu then security center its at the bottom. I don't know anything about avast.

just got it to work....went into the start menu and somehow got to the screen that shows you all the components like your usb.....when i clicked on the usb for edge it was not active, so i activated it that way.....it is weird, i went into the edge folder and preinstalled twice before hooking up the 1st time.....they were there, just not activated for some reason.....thanks guys...
