Superchip 1815 for 04'???

http://www.superchips.com/product.ph...mk=419&msg=%2B

Was looking to buy this for my 04' Lariat 5.4 liter 3v, but they start these out for the 2005 and up. Is there a reason why this would not work for my truck? Wouldn't figure that there would be any difference between my truck and an 05.

I had that for my '06. I was told that this is where Superchips was going and that the Micro Tuners for '04-'05 wouldn't work for my '06. You can try to get info out of there help line, but it didn't get me anywhere.

As for the product, it is a decent tune for the 5.4l 3vbut it is still just develpoing some of what they say it will do. They just unlocked data aquisition, the tranny shift firmness is still not active, and personally I think it was overpriced (close to a custom tune price). I ended up returuning mine and got an Edge, which I am very happy with. Best of luck.

For the price quoted on that site, go with the XCalII from Troyer with custom tunes for your truck and mods....you'll save $$ too! Although I don't have personal experience with it yet, everyone who I have chatted with that has one loves it.

I installed the Volant CAI and was fairly impressed the response gain, but I still want more. I had an 02 Lariat and it seems like the 04 is a bit sluggish compared to my 02. Maybe the weight factor, dunno.
So, my next items to buy were a chip and exhaust.

Yea all tuners will make it feel faster, they fix the throttle response.

I was really disappointed in my truck before the tuner. I went through the Hypertech and Superchips before getting the Edge. They all help like Joe said, I hate driving without the tunes now. It feels like I am in a boat not a truck. My advice would be to go with either the Edge or Troyers tunes, both are great products.

I put Gunner 6 20's w/ Pirelli Scorps 275/55, will the Edge allow me to adjust for my tire and wheel size?

Yes, most current tunres allow you to change the wheel size and correct for gearing changes as well.

That's coo.
I'm now looking into the Edge... I was quoted my a Performance shop here in H-Town, $449.00 installed with tax. They will also paint the plastic to match.

The painting is cool. You can find it for less online if you look, but there is always the instant gratification of just getting it. As for installation, it's cake, I also just mounted mine in my ashtray since I don't smoke. Keeps it visable if I want but out of the way the rest of the time.

Gotta see, have any pics? Or does it just sit there?
I would think it is wireless?

No, it's wired, ran the wires through the kick panel, behind the center console and drilled a hole in the base of the ashtray. I have pic's in my gallery if you want to see. Whole install process was probably 30 minutes.
