Can the Xcal2 be prog'd for a diesel?

Can the Xcal2 be prog'd for a diesel?

Anyone know if the Xcal2 can be reprogrammed for an F250 6.0 diesel? I traded in my F150 this past weekend for an F250 (just like the bigger trucks I guess plus the towing ease) and kept the Xcal2 I got from Troyer...

Yes it can. That's one reason I got the xcal2 also. My next vehicle will be a F250 diesel, so why not get something I can use on my F150 now and a diesel later.

Oh a Troyer tuned Diesel, that excites me! Anyone out there have a Troyer custom tuned Powerstroke if so I'm extremely curious as to what kind of hp and tq gains your talking. Just curious as to how it would compare to a six gun tuner.

If you knew what has been taking place on his new dyno you would not make such a statement...

"Uuummmm, "God Like" status

How about "Maestro King God Wizard Troyer"

I like it, now thats got a ring to it..!!!

Have to ever talked to Mike, Mike is a very smart man... hell of a nice fellow..and provably knows more about F150s than the engineers that designed them

So its thats God Like to you, so be it....

As a matter of fact I do get out of the house quite often. Normally every Wednesday morning when I load up my truck, suitcase, and a few personal items and make the drive to Mikes shop for 3 days...If I did not believe in what Mike is capable of I wouldn't drive over 700 miles a week to be part of it..Its apparant the some here have no clue as to how dedicated he is in research, developement, and the proper tuning of Ford vehicles, both gasoline and diesel fueled....

Thats exactly the reason I got rid of my 04, 6.0 powerstroke and went back to a gasser. I knew there were a lot of folks out there that claimed all sorts of stuff out of the 6.0's (and yes they are capable of some astounding torque numbers) but in talking with a number of ford powerstroke mechanics they taught me a new term. It's called "stretched head bolts". I didn't want to go there especially with a $9000.00 engine so opted not to put a tuner in it. I also didn't know Mike T at the time, if I had I would not of hesitated to have hime tune the Powerstroke.

One of the other things I came out of T's Dyno Day was an appreciation for Mike as truely concerned about "safe" power. I know we could have gotten more out of my F-150 but to do it we would have had to lean it out and Mike's just not going there. So now I have a truck I can gas the pee outa and not worry about melt down on the top of my pistons.

As far a God Like status, I don't think so. He is extremely good, maybe the best in the field he has choosen to make his living. Many of us have choosen to trust our vehicles to Troyer Performance, if you choose not to it's your buisness. There are a lot of Tuners out there, pick you one and good luck.

This is a very simple matter of Ford 512ci having taken a number of shots at me personally here over the past few months, despite the fact that he knows nothing whatsoever about us or our actual capabilities. Typical.

The fact is, yes, we DO tune diesels, and have been for some time - and quite well, thank you. The fact is, this "gentleman" knows nothing whatsoever of our diesel tuning capabilities, and his statement couldn't be further from the truth - it's just his anti-Troyer bias showing it's head once again, just as he has done numerous times in the past here.

I hate to inform you of this fact.Diesel engines have been scretching head bolts since the engine was invented.I have been around diesel engines since I was 16 years old.I went to school at Wyoming technical inst. in Laramie,Wyoming and graduated as a diesel tech.Also any backyard mechanic can tell you that All diesel engine head bolts stretch over time.It is a common fact.

Yes it can and it can produce very well safely
