quick edge program question

Is it necessary to return to a different level before changing a custom option on your current level?
For example:
I'm on level 3 right now, I want to change a few things- Shift points, tire size, Timing, WOT fuel.
Is it necessary to reprogram back to stock then back to level 3 to add my custom options?
I know I don't have to but is it bad for my PCM to go straight from level 3 to level 3 WITH custom options?

I do it and have had no problems. Just go through and check all the settings while you are in there to make shure they are where you want em, most importantly tire size and gear ratio.

Yes you do, U do have to reset back to OEM and start over and get into custom setting menu.

no, go back into the custom program and bring up the load previous settings, then change what you want to and save. truck has to be off when doing it....then follow the prompts......key on but not running etc....then turn key off, then key back on.....something like that. but loading previous settings cuts the time of redoing everything. only time to put back to stock is if taking it out of the truck to download something from the edge site.....

I've never returned to stock, when creating a custom tune.

I'm not sure why you would have to.

by using the load previous settings you can see what you have loaded currently......if changing anything (ie:just shift points), then just make sure truck is off and change that. click done i believe and then it will tell you to turn key off, then key on but don't start. then it will only take a few minutes to load your changes only! all your other info will be in there already.....cuts time down bigtime when only making a small change. now going to a different level, then i custom programing for the 1st time you go thru everything.....if you don't believe me, then go into custom tune for your level and pick load previous settings and you will see what you have already done!
if no changes to be made hit menu to get back to the beginning.....you can even check things while truck is on, however you can't make changes with truck on. you won't hurt anything doing it from scratch......but why???? only if starting out the 1st time in custom tuning.....this cuts loading your pcm down alot time wise.
