I just got my Xcal II from toyer for a strategy read of my truck,since it was reflashed by the dealer,but in the user guide it just said it will do it but not how..do I just plug it in and look on the menu??thanks for any help on this,I want to get this back to them as soon as possiable.mike

 

Plug the X-Cal into the OBD2 port.
Scroll down until it reads "DTC's" on the screen.
Press select.Then push the scroll down button twice until the screen reads
"Strategy".Push the select button again and follow the instructions.
It will say 'turn on ignition', "DO NOT START VEHICLE".
The digits that appear on the screen at this time will be the strategy.
Copy it down exactly as it appears and send it in the Mike.
Its that easy....

 

hey marc,thanks for the info,but it said can not read strategy,is a strategy what they flash on it or does it have one already and the flash changes it?

 

The "strategy" is the make up of the PCM from the factory..

 

again thanks for your time marc,the unit needed the new version 1.11 to read my truck,now it works fine....I cant wait to get it back!!!
