I faxed my paperwork in on the 13th....patiently waiting. So I changed my fuel filter and oil & filter yesterday. Today, I got the dreaded CEL. Dealer pulled the codes, found out the #2 cylinder spark plug fouled out and was bad. They replaced it free under warrenty but didn't bother to tell me that they did me the huge favor (insert sarcasm here) of reflashing my PCM. Go figure. So I call them back, asking for the new code....and much to my suprise, they don't know what I'm talking about and say there isn't a new PCM code and that the old code will "work just fine for whatever chip you have".
I have to thank Anita (I think that's who I talked to today) for helping me work on this. She talked to Mike and it looks like my XCal2 will be here a lil earlier than expected.....They are sending it down to me blank so i can read the new statagy and get that info and the XCal2 back to them. (Such a tease....) But once again, my thanks goes out to the good people up there at TP.

Hi Blue,
Ah, so you're the one Anita just told me about!
Yes, I heard about that, and for people in your situation, we shoot out a loaner XCal 2 so you can do a "Read Strategy" with it and get us that info, and we include a return shipping label for that loaner unit, and then we'll have the correct code so we can tune your vehicle for it's new code properly.
Any time the dealership changes the PCM revision, they are actually required by federal emissions laws to place a "notice of authorized modification" sticker under the hood identifying the new PCM revision, either by it's hex code name or by the Ford part # for that PCM revision - obviously your dealership didn't do that. Don't feel bad, more and more these days we're seeing more dealerships not bothering to do that, but they are in the wrong.
At any rate, we're taking care of this for you, so not to worry!
