FINALLY...need my .LL3 files
FINALLY...need my .LL3 files
Now that SCT has finally released the update utility and firmware, I need my .LL3 files for end-user adjustibility since my tunes (from last Aug.) weren't done in Advantage 3.0. What's the best way to go about getting these from ya Mike? What have you other guys done to get these? Any problems with the conversion? Thanks!!!
Guess I'm the only one who needs these files??? Everyone else waited long enough to have their tunes done in Adv. 3.0?
I sent a couple of emails to sales when you have the time. Thanks buddy.

Alright Mike, so I was mistaken...the conversion utility is NOT avail. to the public. SCT said I either need to get the .xtr files from you and they will convert them to .ll3 for me, or I can get the .ll3 files directly from you to upload to my Xcal2 via LiveLoad. Either way is fine with me...prob. save you some time to just email me the .xtr files but whatever works for you man.
I received my XCAL2 in that time frame in sept 05 (I beleive) when they were sent out without the end user capability. I spoke with Anita and she told me there have been some issues completing this task. So for the sake of not running into issues, I detuned my truck to stock and sent the unit to TP to get it completed...
They asked me to do the same, but at the time the reasoning was because the firmware was in BETA, now that 1.11 is out I don't see this being an issue so long as they convert the xtr's to ll3 for me, or let SCT do it. SCT apparently hasn't had very many issues with the new software available. I think their Advantage software is also updated from what it was...??? I don't want to be out any more $$$ or time for this. The whole point in the Xcal2 is tuner support via emailed files. We'll see what the great one has to say.
I don’t think the beta testing is complete for Live Load 3 yet. Mikes trying to make sure all the bugs are worked out before he starts converting .xtr files to .ll3 and distributing them to his customers.

I became a beta tester near the end of January so it’s been about six weeks. Personally I haven’t had any problems with the new files but I think there was a glitch or two that other beta testers had
Thanks man, maybe Mike will chime in here with some good news.
UPDATE: Mike will be wokring on my .ll3 files after the group buy...thanks buddy!!!

Hi Jackal,
Thanks for dropping by!
Though you probably already know this by now, due to the nature of the posts in this thread (especially the first few posts) I gotta go thru my "the speech" just for GP's, so bear with me on this, OK?
Just FYI - any time someone wants something from us, like Jackal did - the way to do that is to call us - not post here. These are matters that have nothing to do with F-150 Online, but instead, are of a nature that is between customer & vendor - and thus must be discussed privately, off the boards.
OK, now that I've got "the speech" out of the way.............
It's good to see you again, Jackal!!!
I've seen you a few times over on SCT from time to time, though I don't get by there very often at all.
Just FYI, Live Load seems to be working pretty well - now you *will* need to update your XCalibrator 2 to the latest firmware version in order to have the on-board adjustability and all the latest features, and remember that this would be firmware version 1.11 - not 1.10, not 1.3, but 1.11 - which is, due to the screwy nature of the revision numbering scheme, NEWER than version 1.3 - which should have been named 1.03 just to keep the public at large straight.
Soooo - just make sure that you have firmware version 1.11 downloaded and installed - now first, you need to return your vehicle back to stock just long enough to update your firmware - then update your firmware, which can take up to 20 minutes with 3 tunes already loaded into the XCal 2 - so make sure you do not have an anti-virus software, no screen savers, no Internet connection, no NOTHING else going on during this process that could possible interrupt flashing your new firmware version - and as you probably already know, the software you need and the firmware version are all at SCT in the downloads section so you can download them and update your XCal 2 to firmware revision 1.11.
Now once you have the firmware updated and we sent you your .ll3 files, *then* you will have all the various features, since you were one of the "early" XCalibrator 2 owners. It has indeed taken some time to get everything working as advertised, and now most of it seems to be working well. So far, everyone we have tested Live Load on has worked OK - well, there was one gentleman with an issue, but it was an easy fix, he just needed to unlock his XCalibrator 2 first -
Speaking of which, for Jackal, here's the order in which I think you should approach all of this, once you have downloaded both the new firmware version and the software to install it from SCT's web site:
1.) Return the vehicle back to stock.
2.) Update your tuner's firmware.
3.) Then unlock your tuner.
4.) Then load into your XCalibrator tuner the Live Load files we will be sending you.
5.) Then finally, re-tune the vehicle with the new Live Load files loaded into your tuner.
Doing it this way, your tuner will act like it's being installed for the first time all over again, because you unlocked it, so it will once again download it's stock factory tune, and then upload whichever program you choose. That is the "cleanest" way to do it.
Good luck!

Thanks Mike, I will do just that when I get the files, as I have dl'd everything else and am ready to rock.
I knew you might have seen this thread as another "should have called", which is why I did. I sent some emails and made a call to Crystal, but I also figured that this was the best way to catch you at your leasure, and to gather feedback from other Troyer customers as to how the process went for them. I hope it didn't come off as another, "HEY HEY...LOOK AT ME!!!" thread...maybe I should have worded it differently or just posted my concerns on the SCT forums. Anyway, thanks for getting back to me man...I know how busy you are. Thanks for taking the time to explain the process as well.
(I know, I'm bad about this...but I'm a certified forum nut. You wouldn't believe how many forums I follow...I'm embarrased to even say.)
