? foranyone with xcal 1/2 in the northwest, or mike?

hey, im interested in the xcal w/ custom tunes, but am curious about my situation 5,000ft (montana)- we dont have 87 octane up here, we are at 85, 88, 91/3 octane- if i purchased, would i have to run at premium from now on- as 87 is regular grade for most other states? which tunes are you running in high altitude situations? thanks,

Justin

HI Justin,

That's a good question, and comes up often around here, so it's referred to as part of "the basics" - thus you can easily look up this kind of info via the SEARCH feature here anytime.

The way we tune each vehicle is according to the fuel supply each individual vehicle owner has available to them - for example, out west it's typical to have 91 octane premiums instead of the 93 octane premiums we get here in the east, and at high altitudes, sometimes even a bit less!

So when each person orders their Troyer Performance custom tuning from us, we go over with them all those kinds of details in helping them select the types of tunes they want to have us do on their vehicle. And we can still make worthwhile gains on "regular" gas, as long as it's good quality (meaning not rot-bucket cheap off-brand no-name gas), especially in the 2004 & newer trucks.

You get a set of 3 different custom tune,s so we can tune you for different levels of octane, and different types of tunes - "performance" style tunes, or tunes that are made to be towing-compatible, etc.

The bottom line is, no matter where you are or what you have available to you for fuel, we can do tuning for you and improve the performance and overall driveability of these trucks - please feel free to give us a call at our number listed below for more details on this if you like, we'll be happy to help!

Best of luck with your truck, & hope to hear from you!
