Thumbs up Tuning an Expy vs F150?

I read a post while searching from Mike T. that stated the Expy was a more involved tune as compared to the F150. Just thought it would be interesting to discuss why that would be the case, considering it is the same basic powertrain, or am I mistaken about that.

I recently ordered the xCal2 under the "Group buy" and have to agree with so many others here as to the complete and total commitment by Troyer Performance to customer satisfaction, all to rare in todays consumer markets.

Hi dstacey,

Thanks very much for getting into our Group Buy, congratulations!

We can't get into that here, as that would involve a rather technical discussion and more importantly, would only serve to help educate & train our competitors - who need to do their own R&D at their expense, we're not here to help them, as I'm sure you can appreciate.

Last, the reality also is that I just do not have the time to discuss anything detailed via typing, not here, and not in email, either - so I do that only in person or by phone, and only on topics that do not involve highly proprietary information.

So I'm sorry, but for any number of reasons we won't be getting into that here, and thanks in advance for your understanding on that.

Now since you actually own an Expedition, and would like to go over this in a bit more detail, then sure, I will be happy to have a personal discussion with you - so if you'd like to do that, you can give us a call some time next week (I'll be tied up the next few days or I;d say to call us right away!) and ask for me personally, and let our staff know that I asked you to call to discuss your Expedition, OK? Thanks again for your support!

Hi 98Navi,

Actually, I'm looking forward to getting your Navi done, to see just how happy we can make you!

I do hope that "dstacey" calls us, as there are some good points I'd like to go over with him - some of the same things I went over with you will also apply to him, since the Navigator up thru roughly 2003 is very similar to the Expedition, and thus some of the same differences apply.

I'm happy to speak with him or other Expy owners about some of the differences in this regard, it really was a good question - just too detailed to get into here.

Well considering the novel that Mike T. has written about the Xcal2 on this site about the F150 platform, I guess it would be a little to much to ask to start over with the Expy! I'll call them tomorrow because 98navi got me wondering what could be that much different about tuning the Expy. I'm still amazed at the intricacy (sp?) involved with these tunes and how much I get out of this site in regards to my vehicle.

I'm really getting excited to get this thing in my hands though. How about some other comments from Expy owners with the Xcal2 tune.

Dustin

Dustin, what i meant was that of all the combo's, I just got a computer thats a PIA. But mikes gonna revamp that and create a monster for me. Call'em, just save plenty of time and to get the most of the conversation, have a tape recorder handy!
