purchasing the 1745 max from troyer question

Does anyone know if you/I/we have to call Troyer to get our F150 online discount or can we just order through his web site and get the same deal/discount? I dont think the 1745 max says anything about needing the vin # and stuff for Troyer to personalize/custom set the programmer(s) like the xcal does so unless I have to call to get the discount I really would not have to personally speak to some one (RIGHT???)

You don't need a VIN number for the 1745. I would personally call because I believe they need to verify that you are actually a member of F150online.com. Here are also a couple of websites that may be of interest if you are looking at the 1745. You can read what others who purchased the product have to say about it. Hope it's helpful. Good luck.

No Need To Do Anything But Order It

Since the 1745 can't be customized(line the XCal) you can order it from anyone who carries it. It comes with 3 tunes: 87 octane towing compatable; 91 octane towing compatable; 91 octane performance not towing compatable. It is a great tuner if you are not going to do lots of engine mods but want to have better throttle response, better shifts, slightly better mpg, and the ability to modify/adjust a few other items (tire size, rev limiter, shift points, etc). I have been useing Superchip products for many years and have no complaints. Actually, for a plug and play "canned" tuner, the 91 octane performance tune rocks. Plus, it only takes a few minutes to change over to the tow tune if needed. The 87 octane tune will make your truck perform much better. It you plan on doing many future mods you may want to consider the XCal.

I bought my 1745 from Troyer Performance and the F150Online discount was significant. Give 'em a call!

Hi kAkA_r0Ach,

Yes, we *do* indeed offer a very significant additional discount for registered members of F-150 Online such as yourself!

Now most people call us with their oder to get that price, so they will know what it is, as we cannot quote those heavily discounted prices here or in email - however, if you prefer, you actually *can* use our online ordering system at www.troyerperformance.com and place your order, and just make sure to leave your F-150 Online screen name in the "special instructions" text box - and then we will *automatically* give you that special additional discount, which prices it far below what you see on our web site for products like the 1715 for the 1996-2003 F-150's, or the 1714 for the 2004's, the 1745 for the 2005's, etc.

If you prefer to call us, you do not need to speak with me personally, we have a sizable staff who knows all about this and will be more than happy to help you with this - just give us a call at our number listed below & anyone here will be more than happy to help you!

One last point - if you are interested in getting the very *best* results, you might want to consider going with our Group Buy on our Troyer Performance *custom* tuning, which gets you 3 different custom tunes in the XCalibrator 2, the world's most advanced hand-held tuner - it's a little bit more than the "standard" Superchips tuner, but gets you a significantly better result - just letting you know in case that might interest you. Here is a link that will take you to the info on our Group Buy: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=227214

And of course, if you would like to go over any of this in more detail, please feel free to call us at our number listed below, OK?

Thanks for your post, & best of luck whatever you decide!

1745 is still over 300bux on those sites, i thought it was cheaper... May as well save up and get custom tuned xcal2 or edge evolution...

Thnks for all the feed back. Mike thanks for the info also, ive been reading up on the group buy for a while and was debating on it. my rig is bone stock and will not do any major mods to it. (work truck) maybe a larger tire size once the stock ones needs to be replaced. & maybe an air intake and exaust in the far future, So I figured the 1745 would be more down my ally.

That is certainly up to you - however, even for a bone-stock truck, our custom tuning does a significantly better job - some people are under the mistaken impression that you have to have "significant" mods done in order for a custom tune to be worthwhile, and that supply is not the case. You get better power gains, better performance improvements, and significantly better overall driveability that is well worth very small difference in cost with our Group Buy that is going on right now.

Of course, this is up to each vehicle owner to decide, so you do whatever makes you the happiest, & good luck!
