Troyer or Bama?

I need some advice. I've got a 2004 F-150 XLT with a 5.4. I'm thinking about a tuner. I've read good things about both Bama and Troyer. Any input? Thanks!

Either Or.

Both SCT tuners, one is rated higher than the other by SCT.

Just do a quick google search and i am sure you can pull up more information on Bama Chips than you can compared to Troyer Performance.

Best of luck.

Of course if you do a quick google search, most of what you see about Bamachips is directly related to Mustangs or V6 trucks, where Troyer specializes in the F150s.

Not to stir anything up. I thought Bamachips also tune F150's?

He said that Troyer specializes in F150's, where Bama does not necessarily specialize in F150's, more for mustangs and V6's.

When I had my Mustangs, Bama Chips was always in the running, even though I chose to go with DTP, but for F150s its Troyer all the way

Where are the dealer ratings located on the SCT site?
Thanks.

Troyers have been doing this forever (15 or so years I believe) and Mike knows these trucks like no other.
If you ask me there's no comparison, TP.

Mmmkay! Show proof then or eat your false assertion! If you work at SCT and state that x is #1 and y is #5 that means diddly. What do customers say and where's the evidence to support that, uhm, fact?

If I still had my ranger I might look at Bama chips since that is what they specialize in however I ordered my xcal2 from Troyer for my f150 cause thats what they specialize in. Oh wait a minute I wouldn't have to look at Bama cause I bought a flip chip from Brian Heron of Apten a couple of years ago, before he was hired by SCT and sold his programing equipment to Doug aka Bama

Hi dixieF150scab,

Everyone is happy to choose whoever they like - the fact is, most people who have been here any length of time soon realize that nobody else has our degree of knowledge, expertise or experience in tuning these F-series vehicles - we've specialized in them for 14+ years, far longer than anyone else - which is why we are hired by numerous manufacturers to help them with everything from their tuning products to shifters, suspension parts, engine parts, cylinder heads, etc., because of how long we have specialized in this platform.

Heck, some of them think we're just plain nuts for taking these 2.5-3.5 ton behemoths and turning up the wick until each owner is happy with their performance level - but that is what we do, and Lord knows these vehicles need the help!

It's a simple matter of experience, knowledge and expertise in this platform - I have a rather infamous saying - I tell people that our company would NOT be the best "go to" people for Honda performance, for example - we do not have that expertise, there are people who would do that better for Honda owners than us, of course. F-series trucks is our area of expertise, what we have specialized in longer than anyone else, and why so many F-150 owners come to us for their tuning & other performance needs.

But rather than sit here sounding like a commercial, I suggest taking some time to read the boards, and see what our customers have to say about us - the people who have spent their hard-earned money to have us do what we do, as i think their opinion should be listened to by anyone trying to make up their mind. I think that with any real time spent reading here, anyone would quickly find that we have a large and strong following, and have had for many years.

We've worked darned hard to earn it - just as we hope to earn your trust, and the privilege to serve your F-series performance needs!

Best of luck whatever you decide,
