I am wanting to buy a programmer and I am looking at all possible "issues". Given my past history (10 vehicles in 12 years), can I sell an Xcal2 that is custom tuned for my truck to somebody else when I get rid of my F150?

When I return my truck to stock and sell the Xcal2 to somebody else, what would they need to do to get it "custom" tuned for their truck. I'm assuming they would have to pay some sort of charge to Mike at TP or Bama Chips to reprogam it for their truck. Is this correct or am I way off base?

I searched and didn't see anything, but I could have overlooked it.

 

Actually, the smart thing to do would be to get the best tuning possible - which is our custom tuning via our Group Buy currently going on, as nobody else has anywhere near the amount of R&D or knowledge regarding the tuning of this vehicle platform.

And, by using the XCalibrator 2, it can always be reprogrammed for any future FoMoCo vehicle you may own, at least up thru the 2007 model year - it also has updateable firmware, so it is capable of being upgraded for even newer vehicles in the future as well as being used on numerous other FoMoCo vehicles if you like by simply having us reprogram it.

However, it you decide to sell it, then the next person can have us do a new set of tunes for *their* vehicle - yes, that is indeed doable, we can reprogram any existing XCal 2 for a different vehicle - in fact, we reprogram *many* XCal 2's purchased elsewhere because people aren't happy with the tuning they got elsewhere, so that is an everyday thing for us.
