Question XCAL2 Dead???

I did a search and couldn't find any posts with this problem. I've been running the 87 tune for awhile and today filled up with 93. I plugged in the XCAL2 so I could switch to my 93 Perf. tune, but it wouldn't power on. I've plugged it in and unplugged it several times already...key off and on, but nothing. Anybody hear of them doing this??

Probably a blown fuse.

Check the fuse to the cigar lighter #41 20amp. It also powers the diagnostic conector.

Precisely - either the XCal is not being firmly connected to the OBD-II port (and we recommend doing this with both hands, placing one hand BEHIND the OBD-II port to support it so you don't bend it's bracket back when connecting to it) or it's just a blown fuse, the same one for the cigarette lighter.

This is a classic, and is virtually always the fuse for the cigarette lighter.

Good luck!

Red face

ROFL...Yup...you guys were right!! Blown fuse. Stupid me, I remember when I did my trans shifter swap that I was trying to test out a voltage tester on the cigar lighter because I couldn't find a live wire anywhere. Turns out I had a bad voltage tester and got a big spark when I touched the wire. It never occured to me to check the fuse after that and I hadn't switched my tune since this summer because of the gas prices. :o :o

Thanks for the info.

Excellent, glad to hear it!

Now you can get back to using your XCal like normal.

Merry Christmas!
