Question I could be wrong but...

Unless our trucks are running perfectly balanced (air/fuel) from the factory, wouldn't adding an intake and exhuast cause you to loose performance by making the engine run too lean? (without tunning) And if it runs lean from the factory wouldn't these mods just make it even worse? I guess the real question is do you think these mods are worthless without tunning?

the trucks pcm can make fuel adjustments to some degree, it is well within the range of the PCM to make adjustments for an intake and exuast, the MAF sensor reads the incoming air and the 02 sensors read the air feul ratio the computer make it adjustments from them, hope i cleared this up

That makes sense... so thats the reason why people were having problems with the CEL? The computer was trying to compensate for the change in air/fuel ratio... that makes things a lot more clear, thanks!
