Xcal workings

I'm on troyer performance's website... just starinig at the xcal (and the price). Then a question came to mind... How do you shift from towing to perf? Does the piece stay connected to your engine? Do you have to hook it up when you want to change modes? How does one work this thing?

if this is answered in another post i couldn't find it. I had lots of hits because of the term Xcal, but not much on how it works.

You plug the programmer into a port under the dash on the drivers' side when you want to load or change the tune. It takes maybe 10 minutes. Call troyer for a member discount as well. Search this forum thoroughly, there is alot of info in here.

No kidding on the info part! a search on Xcal seems to have about 10,000 hits! I've been lusting after this device for a while now... I really want some more punch out of my truck... a 5.4 V8 shouldn't struggle against min-van.

And to think that this thread will be one of the thousands "hits" when the next person searches for "XCal"
