Troyer Tuner sheets....

well, I took the plunge and called Troyer and ordered the xcal2. Anita got my email address and emailed me the sheets to fill out. When I printed them out I was quite surprised on the detail required. My problem is this, who or where do I take the sheets to get filled out for some of the information? I don't want to sound like an idiot but for someone who doesn't know a lot about engines, it seems very detailed. Thaks for any help!

FYI, will post pics of new OEM 20's and exhaust. This is my first truck and I have to say that this mod thing is A LOT of fun......and freaking expensive!!!

You shouldnt have to have anybody fill em out for you. If it asks about a part you havent changed, then just write STOCK in the blank.

Don't let the extent of Troyer Performance's questionaire intimidate you. It should make you feel real good that your tuner goes to the extreme in building a tune EXACTLY for you. Since you have owned the truck since day one, you'll have no problem as Johngs stated. No half-way with a Troyer tune. Good choice.

Regarding the sheets, I didn't know too much about my truck as I bought it from someone else, so my sheets were not very thorough but I filled it in as best I could. The tuner is still being tuned I believe, and if it is, it's taking absolutely forever but I'll let everyone know when I receive it. For that kind of money I'd appreciate a quicker response. I'll be giving the tuner a review as soon as I receive it, I am probably going to compare it to the new Edge Power Programmer based mostly on performance gains which I'm trying to get my hands on asap.

That is what I assumed, just put stock if I don't know (i.e. fuel pump brand and rating, bore size, stroke length, etc.) I am IMPRESSED with the detail of the worksheets, makes me feel a little better spending the $$. As for the wait, she told me it would take 10-20 business days from the day she receives my sheets back, is that what everyone is seeing for delivery?

I ordered 87 tow, 91 tow and 91 performance. Anita told me that if I have it on 91 performance and I am going to tow even an empty trailer I need to switch to either one of the tow tunes. Has anyone towed on a performance tune? How difficult is it to switch?

Thanks for all your comments and help.

Mike Troyer has posted explicit warnings about not towing with a performance tune, very recently I think ...... not evn to be used for pulling another vehicle out of a ditch.

Switching tunes is a breeze. Just keep your X-Cal2 handy and you can switch in just a few minutes.

I sent my papers in 11/11/05 and as of yesterday I was 14th on the list. I knew up front that it would take a while to get my xcal 2. It has been a true test of patience. I think I am doing pretty good so far. I appreciate the fact that they take the time to make each tune perfectly match each vehichle. I am hanging in there

Seems like they tune a car or two a day. I just called and they said it will take 10-12 more business days but she was, of course, overcalculating to the latest expected day. I really hope it does not take more than 6 days for them to ship it. I'm going to track that thing all the way home.

Hi tbagr,

Just fill them in the best you can - for anything you have not changed on the mods sheets (2 pages), enter STOCK, we are not worried about the bore & stroke size unless you have custom-built an engine - remember, these sheets go out to everyone, and lots of people do WILD vehicles, while some do very mild applications where some things just do not apply to them.
So just use your common sense on this, and if there is anything else we need to know when we get them, we'll call you, OK?

With regard to the vehicle maintenance info (2 sheets), we like to know as much as possible - so again, if you are not the original owner, just let us know what you can, and say "unknown" in those areas where you just don't know!

For everyone else...

You;'ll be happy to know we are getting your knocked out a lot quicker now, for example, for Blyoth you will probably be getting your tuning done tomorrow, for example, and shipped out no later than the day after that.

We are getting this done as quickly as possible without compromising our standards, and thanks to everyone for your patience - just remember, each time you read another post form someone else raving about the results with our tuning, you know it will be worth it - but thanks ever so much for your faith in us, and for your patience, we are truly honored to be able to to serve you - THANK YOU!

Merry Christmas,
