New 2006 - Chip Options?
New 2006 - Chip Options?
Picking up my 06 FX4 today and the first thing I want to address in the next couple months is getting a bit more power. I test drove the Titan and the F150 and could tell the difference. But I got the F150 anyway because its a nicer truck, and everyone I talked to said you cant go wrong with it.
Any options for this truck yet - will the 05 chips work with it?

Hi KD1,
So you got a brand new 2006 FX4, eh? Congratulations!
No, the 2005 programs won't work on it, but don't worry, we can tune your 2006.
When you call us, our people will ask you for the "computer code" of your truck, which is 3 letters and 1 number - you can easily find it under the hood, on a sticker on the PCM - the PCM is located at the top of the firewall, just left of center, and it has 3 wiring harness connectors coming out of the front of it - look somewhere on there and you'll see a code sticker.
You can usually also find another code sticker by opening the passenger's side door (the front passenger door) and look in the front part of the door frame, in the general area of the door hinges, and there should be a code sticker there, too.
So our people will get that info from you and have me double-check usually right then while you are still on the phone, but we have already been tuning the 2006's for months now, so it shouldn't be any kind of problem to wake that thing up and get you more power, much better throttle response, and numerous other benefits.
Thanks for your post & enjoy that beautiful new 2006 FX4!
