Another *huge* Thanks Go Out To Mike Troyer!!!!!

HI!... Well as some of you know my brand new built 5.4 had some major mechanical problems just after 700KMS of break in time. If not, read here towards the end : https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=202950

Well I would like to say a huge thanks to MIKE TROYER for helping me out. See I bought a brand new set of STAGE II FOX LAKE cylinder heads through him a few years ago, probably about 3 years now. They sat in the box for that time period. I then decided to go forward on my built 5.4 project and used those heads. Well after only 700KMS on the motor, one of the valve guides broke off and fell into two cylinders and destroyed 2 new pistons. Well let's just say I was not happy! Well I got two new pistons installed, but the heads were pretty screwed up. I was ready to tear someone at FOX LAKE's head off but decided to call MIKE 1st. Well after MIKE talking to FOX LAKE it seems that most likey there was a shipping screw up and I most likely got someone elses heads by mistake. But since it had been 3 years since we got the heads from them, I was out of luck.

So MIKE stepped up and offered to buy me all new cams and valve train for my FOX LAKE heads. Now he DID NOT have to do this AT ALL!!! He did this for a favour to me and to make things right. I have much respect for a tuner that will take care of his customer in this way. Now by no means do I have hard feelings towards FOX LAKE, it was a mistake, ***** happens (usually to me) LOL! I won't go into details but this did cost MIKE a good chunk of change. He even upgrade some parts like valves and custom ground COMP-CAMS cams for me. I should have the rebuilt heads back on SAT and hope to have the engine back in my truck and running by SAT night.

Again MIKE, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it greatly and we'll talk soon.

P.S : Is my chip done yet? LOL! (joke)

Hi Neal,

Thanks very much for your kudos, they are greatly appreciated - perhaps more than even you will ever know!

We have had the pleasure of working with/on/semi-sponsoring a number of aspects of Neal's truck for 6 years now, basically almost ever since he gt it.

Neal has painstakingly documented each and every performance modification we have provided (and those that he has done by hand), to show everyone that our products do in fact deliver what we say they do - he has done numerous rounds of datalogging, dyno testing, and I can't count literally how many actual drag strip track tests over the past 6 years - and each and every time, each modification we have provided has performance at least as well as we represented - which has made it just that much more fun to work with Neal, as he is one of the few who have serious talent and will actually do proper controlled back-to-back testing time after time.

A lot of people will go to a dyno once - some will go to a drag strip - but to date, I cannot think of another F-150 owner who has so carefully and meticulously installed, tested and documented each and every single stage of modification to this truck, culminating in his new built motor which is capable of withstanding 1000 HP - literally. His current engine has literally all of the very best parts money can buy, was triple-balanced and far beyond blueprinted, and is yielding excellent performance just as expected - perhaps even a bit more.

This latest configuration with the new comp cams and ultra-low compression in preparation for the big turbos to go on next year should produce an easy 400 HP with just 8:1 compression - and that is hard to do with so little compression, let me tell you.

This engine was built this way in order to prepare for the very high boost levels that will be used on this engine once the next stage (turbos) is done at some pint next year, as Neal's budget and the total R&D come together. This is not just taking some half-arsed turbo kit from a certain well-known company who cannot deliver them and slap it on - no, this is an all-out true custom design that will produce Earth-shattering power levels and still be completely streetable - so streetable that literally *anyone* can get in it and drive it for 1000 miles cross-country, go grocery shopping, and then drop 10 second ET's without a sweat. And maybe 9's, time will tell how far the suspension goes. Knowing Neal, before it's all done it just may lay down 9's in street trim, and high 8's in full race trim - again, only time will tell how far he takes it.

This is one very special truck, where the owner has cut his own path, using his own considerable knowledge, talent & custom alterations, combined with our resources, a lot of our parts & tuning, to come up with a very unique and extremely powerful truck who's "street kill" tales are literally legendary here on F-150 Online.

For the past 3-4 years, this truck on it's bone-stock engine, with our simple exterior bolts on mods and a set of 4.10 gears, has been capable of running high 13 second 1/4 miles (keep in mind, no supercharger, no nitrous, no turbo) terrorizing mildly modified Mustangs right and left. This next iteration steps that up a god bit, between the big drop in compression and the cylinder heads & cams, probably another 50-75 HP to enable him to take on a bit more heavily modified Mustangs and turbo-imports, etc. The final turbo configuration will result in as strong a street driven vehicle as we will most likely see, within reasonable bounds - while retaining full street-legal status, as his location in Canada is extremely strict about emissions.

Hats off to Neal and all his hard work - were proud to be associated with this truck and it's owner, and we thank Neal for the opportunity to work with him over all these years to take this truck thru each and every stage, from the first chip thru each individual modification, and now on to this next 2 phases.

Get 'em, Neal.

HI!... RAIDER : Please stop sniffing glue, it's starting to show. WHAT ARE YOU BABBLING ABOUT? Mike wasn't bashing me at all. Your post makes NO sense at all..........................

I just re-read the post and I think I figured out what's got your panties in a bunch....

*****This is not just taking some half-arsed turbo kit from a certain well-known company who cannot deliver them and slap it on*****

I think he was referring too PRO TURBO's kit that someone else buys and markets as their own and neither one can deliver.

IMO I think who built your motor was sniffing glue...how long did it last? or was it your supplier for the parts that was the problem?

HI!... RAIDER : Actually it was FOX LAKE that PHUCKED up my engine not mu engine builder. That would be an "AMERICAN" company that screwed things up. BTW putting the glue in a paper bag tends to longate the effects. So I've heard. I don't think MIKE was going after SKIDMARK/CRASH at one shot I believe he was generalizing that one company does all the R&D and others jump on the bandwagon and promote it as their kit.

HI!... MARK : Actually I'm not using anything from PRO TURBO at all. All parts will be bought or fabbed up locally and the turbo will be coming from PRECISION TURBO. I am designing and builder "MY" one off set-up myself. All tuing will be done by MIKE TROYER at his place.

P.S : Mark , I glad to hear you have parted ways with DEREK. It was the best thing you could have done. I hope your buisness prospers now that there is no DEADWEIGHT.

I stand corrected Neil. I thought you had the headers from Pro-Turbo (my bad)

Life is sure easier since the parting of ways. I had alot of grief because of stuff that was pulled.

oh and how do you keep the bag from sticking to your face?

HI!... See you have to spray PAM cooking spray on your face 1ST. Easier clean up. lol! Plastic model glue works the best but sometimes a tad bit of lighter fluid enhances the experience! LOL!
