Couple of Questions for Troyer

1st, where do I need to go on the web to get ahold of the Xcal2, I tried your lik on your sig. but couldnt find it.

2nd, i saw that you only recommend AF1 and Airaid intakes, but I have a K&N, what effect will this have.

3rd, I think I understand that once I get one, I load my truck, and data log it for awhile, then I (this is where Im guessing) send you the info I logged, and you re-tweek my tuner, and I re-load the truck?.? But this will still not give you the A:F ratios that seem like they can be all over the board.

BTW, I have an june of 2004 build date on a 5.4, 3V FX4.

Info will help me to hurry up and go in debt for a tuner.

Thanx

The hop tip is to just give us a quick call at our number listed below to go over all the details - that's much quicker than me typing it all out. We are very easy to reach at our number listed below.

Briefly...........

1.) You'll want to call your order in so that you get your special discount on the XCalibrator 2 since you are a registered member here on F-150 Online.

2.) With your K&N intake kit, we will provide what we call "baseline" custom tuning, then as soon as you get the tuning, install it and do the datalogging as per the datalogging instructions you will receive when you place your order for our custom tuning with us - then send that data to us and we evaluate it for any changes that may be needed.

There is never any one set way to tune for any specific intake kit - ion these 3-valve engines they all work a little differently, you could take 100 different AF1's, or 100 different Airaids, or 100 different K&N's, and the results are never going to be exactly the same on every vehicle - in fact, the A/F's of each of these 3-valve motors is going to vary even in bone-stock trim in many cases! So this the purpose of datalogging, to make sure we see how each individual vehicle is running & reacting to certain types of modifications, then start the cycle of datalogging, make adjustments to the tuning, datalogging again to see those effects and make any further adjustments needed, and that continues until it is dialed in spot-on.

I don;t know what area you are in, but if you are within 600-700 miles or so, you might want to come on down for our Dyno Day - Saturday the 19th of November is already full, but we will also be there on Sunday the 20th of November of you'd like to come in and have us do everything all at once. That way you can leave with your tuning fully finalized and everything done on that one day - there is no additional charge for our tuning or datalogging beyond the cost of the XCalibrator 2 from us, the only additional cost is for the dyno time. That's the hot tip if you can possibly make it in case you might be able to, is to get to our Dyno Day - it's in the Roanoke, Virginia area, if you want to check your MapQuest or whatever to see if you can make it.

If you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, please just give us a quick call at our number listed below & we'll be more than happy to go over everything with you!
