How bout that show on the SCT mustang? I guess it proves how much custom tuningis worth and how dyno and data logging need to be done to get the best results. This show seemed pretty informitive , I understand they are advertizing ****** and will represent just about anything, so I ussaully don't take there product endorsement very seriously.

Hi racer,
Yeah, I didn't see it but I don't know if that was a re-run of the show that originally aired a few weeks ago, where they took a tuned 2006 Powerstroke diesel and whipped up on a new Mustang GT down the 1/4 mile (we can take a 6.0 PSD and make it run quicker in the 1/4 mile than a new 4.6 3V Mustang GT, if the Mustang is stock), or if it was a different show.
Now if it was a different show, then I don't know what they did for that one, there's too many of them for me to keep up with - sounds like they did a good demonstration of just how valuable and necessary custom tuning with *proper* datalogging actually is - and if so, then that makes me very happy as it's the same thing we've been harping on here for years!
About all I payed attention to this weekend was my boy finally winning another race in Winston Cup (uh, excuse me - Nextel Cup - it'll always be Winston Cup to me!

UH OHHH....... That means you pull for.... JEFF GORDON???!!!
Man, some things you need to keep to yourself. You know, "dont ask, dont tell" kind of thing!!!
With regards to the SuperChips show, they had Chris Johnson tune one a while back. He really did a great job on my blown 95 cobra with a street tune.

Personally, local stock car racing is the only kind of racing I care about, but it cracks me up that so many 1 toothed redneck hillbillys are upset that a gay guy is dominating nascar, a chick is kicking *** at Indy....now I hope a black racer shows up so all they will have to watch is wresting.

Wow, what a thread, you guys!
To get this back on track, what this thread was about was the 2 guys garage show where they were installing a blower on a Mustang, and then SCT came along and got a ton more power and appropriate A/F ratios by proper DATALOGGING and custom tuning. That is what this thread was about, gentlemen. And yes, I wholeheartedly agree with rj28racer that it goes to show the value of simple datalogging so that the tuner knows what the vehicle is doing, so that he can make the appropriate tuning changes to not only make the vehicle safe & consistent, but to maximize it's results. That show was an excellent example of why that is needed.
Now, to get back off track - as we can all see, no matter who you root for, we race fans are a very opinionated and loyal bunch - we like who we like, we hate who we don't like, and we're very adamant in expressing those feelings!!
There are a lot of great drivers in Cup racing - thought I personally don't care for Tony Stewart, the fact remains that he is a very talented driver who is on a tear - it will take, unfortunately, a small miracle to keep him from winning the championship - which I would like to see go to Mark Martin.
And now I'll probably be shot for saying that, so I think I'll just shut up and leave now...............
Have fun, guys!
